This SMS Privacy Policy explains how Van Doorn Ventures ("Van Doorn Ventures," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you exchange text messages (SMS) with our employees through our business text messaging program, Van Doorn Ventures Business Text Messaging. Our employees send and receive these texts from their business phone numbers through Microsoft Teams.

1. What our text messaging program is for
Van Doorn Ventures Business Text Messaging is for one-to-one, conversational texts between our employees and our customers and business partners about the business you do with us, such as answering your questions, scheduling, and following up on work in progress. We do not use this program for marketing or promotional messages, and we do not send texts to purchased, rented, or shared lists of phone numbers.

2. Information we collect
When you text with us, we collect:
- Your mobile phone number.
- The content of the messages you send to us and that we send to you.
- Opt-in and opt-out records, such as the date, time, and method (verbal or email) you agreed to receive texts, the number you agreed to receive texts from, and the date and time of any STOP request.
- Basic message details created when texts are sent and received, such as the date and time and whether it was delivered.
- Your name and company, if you give them to us.

3. How we use your information
We use this information only to:
- Communicate with you by text about your business with Van Doorn Ventures;
- Respond to your questions and requests, including HELP requests;
- Keep records of your consent and honor your opt-out requests; and
- Operate and improve our business text messaging program.

We do not use your mobile number or the content of your text messages for marketing or promotional purposes.

4. How we share your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number, your messages, or your text messaging opt-in data or consent.

We use Microsoft (which provides Microsoft Teams and our business phone service) and the wireless carriers and messaging providers that route text messages to deliver our texts. We share information with them only as needed to send, receive, and deliver messages and to operate the messaging service, and not for their marketing or promotional purposes.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Mobile opt-in information will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes, and it will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other governmental request, or when necessary to protect our rights or property.

5. How long we keep your information
We keep text messages and related information for as long as we need them to work with you and to meet our legal, accounting, and recordkeeping needs, and then delete them in line with our records practices. We keep records of your opt-in and opt-out requests so that we can show we had your consent and make sure we honor your choice to stop receiving texts.

6. How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including limiting access to our business messaging accounts to authorized employees. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

- Reply STOP to any text from us to opt out.
- Reply HELP to receive support contact information.

8. Children
Our text messaging program is for business customers and partners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this program.
